After establishing our prolific breakdancing history, Episode 9 slowly and casually makes its way through a “Rapid-Fire” Review of last week’s comics, our first installment of Super-Easy Graphic Novice Comic Book Trivia, an in-depth look at the Jennifer Blood series, Moon Knight #1, and a quick look at the books coming out on March 12, 2014.
The opening segment takes a moment to say a quick hello to the guys at the Green Up podcast, twitter super-follower Brian Kearns, friend of the show Brian Fietsam and the History of Bad Ideas podcast. Nickel also makes his best attempt to communicate, and incoherently presents some of the comic news he’s picked off twitter.
In our Rapid-Fire Review segment we discuss Afterlife with Archie #4, Captain America #18, Evil Empire #1, Grimm Fairy Tales #95, Jupiter’s Legacy #4, Marvel Fact Files #9 & 10, Magneto #1, Moon Knight #1, Nova #14, Punisher #3, Secret #6, She-Hulk #2, Starlight #1, Uncanny X-Men #18, Velvet #4, Wolverine and the X-Men #1. We conclude the segment by adding a new twist, and selecting a favorite and least favorite book of the week.
Doc and VF then agree to strip down and grease up, for a Greco-Roman style, old fashion, 5 question trivia grudge match. Don’t miss the breath-taking suspense of our first (and maybe last) installment of Super Easy Graphic Novice Comic Book Trivia.
After getting bumped from last week’s episode, Doc finally seizes the conch, and tells us the story of his emotional connection to the now deceased “Jennifer Blood” series. We look at the ups and downs of this 36-book run featuring the homicidal housewife who captured Doc’s eye by racking up a massive body count and looking good doing it.
VF then provides his opinions on Moon Knight #1 and answers all of our uninformed questions regarding the book and the history of the Moon Knight character.
In an attempt to bring it all home in under 2 hours, we then rush through our look at the March 12 releases and wrap things up with a look at some of the things we have planned for the following weeks.
